Hiking in Warth

Enjoy glorious fascinating hikes with our
manager, who grew up in the Arlberg mountain world
and knows the mountains like the back of his hand.
Hikes are always accompanied by a hearty lunch,
which we will eat in our "Murmelbau" - or 'groundhog' - cabin.

The "groundhog"

The groundhog is a rodent. It can be found in Europe,
Asia and North America. The groundhog has a
compact body and lives in earth caves.
The Alpine groundhog is native to Europe. It grows to around 65 cm,
has a 12 cm long tail
and reaches a weight of around 3.5 kg in spring.
Since its winter hibernation lasts for around eight months,
the groundhog eats more in autumn, when its weight can reach up to 5.5 kg.
